Social Renaissance is dedicated to giving back to the community. A portion of all proceeds from the Social Renaissance events will be donated to local non-profit organizations and charities in the Greater New Orleans area.
The first recipients of the Social Renaissance donation are, Son of a Saint Foundation and the Young Leadership Council (YLC).
The donation to Son of a Saint Foundation will fund their Code of Conduct Poster Project, a poster that lists 11 rules of being a man. In addition, the donation will cover the cost of printing thousands of the posters that will be distributed to middle school students in the Recovery School District (RSD) and Orleans Parish School System. The YLC will use the donation to support their mentoring programs such as the RECreate Project, Power Ties, College Admissions Project, and YLC Kicks program. RECreate is a youth recreation program that offers high quality, accessible, and educational recreational activities to youth in the Central City area. The Power Ties program is a career awareness program that connects professionals from various career backgrounds with 8th grade students at area New Orleans public schools to talk about career readiness and business etiquette. The YLC’s College Admissions Project (C.A.P.) pairs volunteers with underserved high school seniors to help them navigate the requirements necessary to successfully apply to college. The YLC Kicks program serves to support the newly implemented New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) soccer program.
